Why it’s vital that you have friends

“It’s not the lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages”

Why it’s vital!?

Friendships are most important and to have friends during marriage is the most vital one. Vital that the husband and wife are best friends who share a marriage based on honesty, loyalty, respect, communication and love.

Even if your spouse is your best friend, you need a friend of equal gender. According to research it’s more crucial for women to have another female friend than for a man to have a male friend.

Friendships between genders are most different, anthropologists have found that the main reason is women share an intimacy in the relationship while men share a more friendship in the literal form and is not intimacy based.

Why You need coffee in the morning

Coffee, where would we be without coffee in the morning? Maybe 2 cups at home and more at work or just a dark roast. Let’s find out why you need it so much!

The History

No one knows exactly when or why it was discovered, but there are legends. One story goed that the goat herder Kaldi discovered coffee. So when he looked at his sheep he saw that when they ate berries from a certain tree, they became so energetic that they couldn’t sleep. He reported this to the abbot of the monastery, who made a drink with the berries that kept him alert for long. This knowledge was shared throughout the monastery and even moved further.

Word moved to the Arabian Peninsula en soon it was grown in the Yemeni district of Arabia in the 15th century and by the 16th it was all over Persia, Egypt, Syria and Turkey.

European travelers near the east brought back stories from an unusual dark black beverage and by the 17th century it was all the way in Europe.

Coffee began to replace the common breakfast drink beer and wine, and whom drank it as an alternative to alcohol began an alert day and their work was also improved.

By mid 1600’s coffee was brought to New Amsterdam, which later was called New York by the British.

“Coffee – the favorite drink of the civilized world.”

Thomas Jefferson

The benefits of a cup of coffee

So now you know the history of coffee, but what are the benefits exactly. You drank it and know but we will tell you anyway.

– It can improve your energy levels and make you even smarter.

Coffee helps people feel less tired and increase energy levels. That is because it contains a stimulant called Caffeine, and it’s the most consumed psychoactive substance in the world.

After you drank your well deserved cup of coffee, the caffeine is absorbed into the bloodstream and from there it travels to the brain. If it has arrived there it blocks the inhibitory neurotransmitter adenosine. When it blocks the amount of other neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and dopamine increases, which leads to enchanced firing of neurons.

Many controlled studies on humans show that coffee improves aspects of brain function, like the memory, mood, vigilance, energy levels, reaction times and mental function.

– Weigh less with caffeine

Caffeine is found in every fat-burning supplement, because it’s proven to aid in fat burning. It can increase your metabolic rate by 3-11%. It can be less effective though if you are a long time drinker.

– Increases performance

Caffeine breaks body fat down, making fatty acids fuel for your body. On average it can increase performance by 11-12%.

So if you want to get more results from the local gym, drink some coffee first. You can thank me later.

– Full of essential nutrients

A single cup of coffee contains:

  • Riboflavin(aka vitamin B2): 11% of Reference Daily Intake(RDI)
  • Pantothenic acid(aka vitamin B5): 6% RDI
  • manganese and potassium: 3% RDI
  • Magnesium and niacin(aka vitamin B3): 2% RDI

It maybe seem less, but add up that you don’t just drink one cup of coffee.

– Lower risk of diseases

It can lower the risk of Type 2 Diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and Parkinson’s

Now that’s neat, ins’t it?

– Offers liver protection

The liver is an amazing organ, which has hundreds of vital tasks. for people how drink more than 4 cups a day gain an 80% lower risk.

But wait, there are more benefits!

– A cup of coffee means a happy you

Coffee also can fight depression and make you happier.

In a Harvard study, women who drank 4 or more cups a day had a 20% lower risk of becoming depressed and in another one found that of 208,424 individuals who drank 4 or more cups a day were 53% less likely to commit suicide.

– A longer life with coffee

Coffee can help you live longer, no really, several studies concluded that coffee drinkers have a lower risk of death, 20% reduced risk of death in men and 26% reduced risk of death in women.

– The Western Antioxidant

Those who eat a western diet, cofee is the healthiest thing about their diet. It is proven that you can get more antioxidants from coffee than from fruits and vegetables combined.

After reading all of this I might get another cup of coffee just to be sure.

So a longer life from drinking coffee, being happier it truly is an amazing drink for sure.

How Nokia fell

Nokia, almost everyone remembers Nokia. It is most famous for the Nokia 3310’s, joked that if that phone fell it broke the floor. They made a case for it and that was to protect the floor et cetera.

How it started

The Finnish company Nokia started out as a single paper mill operation, think printer paper. throughout the 19th century it expanded and branching several products.

Nokia’s name is from the town Nokia and the Nokianvirtra river. Fredrik Idestam was a mining engineer and establisted a wood pulp mill in 1865 on the Tammerkoski banks in the Finnish town of Tampere, it was back then still part of the Russian Empire. 3 years later he built another mill in Nokia. A friend of Fredrik Leo Mechelin was a statesman and together they formed Nokia company.

The War

After World War I, Nokia was nearly bankrupt and was acquired by Finnish Rubber Works. Finnish Rubber Works acquired Finnish Cable Works in 1932.

When World War II ended, Finnish Cable Works supplied cables for the Soviet Union for war reparations, this was beneficial for later trade.

Nokia Corporation

In 1967 Nokia Corporation was formed by the merged three companies. Nokia Corporation manufactured a lot of products, some are vehicle tires, boots, consumer electronics, computers and military equipment.

And in 1964 Nokia had developed VHF radios with Salora Company and in 1966 Nokia and Salora had developed radio car phones which in 1971 became the first commercially mobile phone network in Finland and in 1978 it covered all of Finland. In the 80’s and 90’s it had developed the messaging system for the Finnish Defence Forces.

Joint ventures

Nokia and Salora made Mobira Company, a joint venture between them. Mobira developed mobile phones for the Nordic Mobile Telephone network, it was called 1G and was the first cellular phone system and went commerical available in 1981.

Nokia purchased Salora in 1984 and named Nokia’s telecom division to Nokia-Mobira Company.

In the 80’s and 90’s Nokia had some financial difficulties and made some losses, both Nokian Tyres and Nokian Footware became a seperate entity.

Nokia’s Golden age

When in 1992 Jorma Ollila became CEO of Nokia and made telecom Nokia’s main concern. International sales increased relative as much as Finnish sales and by mid 1990 Nokia’s supply of phones could not meet the demand.

Between 1996 and 2001 Nokia’s revenue from €6.5 billion to €31 billion. In 1998 and 2012 Nokia was the worlds greatest mobile phone manufacturer. Nokia’s greatest year was 2007 when it dominated 49.4% of the market share. To put that in perspective now Samsung has 31.04%, Apple has 25.15%, Huawei has 10.73%. So Nokia was huge.

In 2010 Nokia Launched the most famous Nokia 3310, in 2003 the Nokia 1100. Until 2011 Nokia’s operating system was Symbian, the latest Symbian phone was the 2012 Nokia 808 PureView which has a 41-megapixel camera.

Nokia’s downfall

Nokia loses it marketshare in 2011 when Symbian was not fast because Nokia focused on good quality phones but not so much on the software. Symbian became slower then other operating systems and Nokia partnered with Microsoft in 2011.

On 25 of April 2014 Nokia sold it’s mobile phone business to Microsoft for €3.79 billion.

In the 18th of may 2016 Microsoft sold the Nokia branded feature phones to FIH Mobile and HMD. Nokia provided it’s brand and patent licensing to HMD.

January 8 2017 brought us the Nokia 6, a midranged phone with android. HMD released more phones and are still at it in 2020.

Beneficial Bilingualism

We may already have a second language, like Spanish or French. It’s a very good thing too, to maybe learn a new language. Imagine if you are out on a holiday and you don’t speak the language they speak, that’s quite embarrasing.

But if you apply for a job that makes you speak another language, like hotelier, it can quests feel more welcome.

In an article from the US National Library of Medicine it’s stated that there is both good and bad press about raising children in bilingual households, but some paediatricians recommend exposing children to multiple languages. Several studies have suggested that bilinguals show certain advantages in social understandings, they must navigate a complex social world where different people have different knowledge about languages. Bilingual pre-schoolers have somewhat better skills than people raised with only one language in understanding other people’s perspectives, thoughts, desires and intentions.

Bilingual people also show cognitive advantages, they perform better in tasks which involve switching between activities and enact from previously learned responses.

It is not clear to research why it is advantageous, but certain possibilities arise: Switching from languages, enact one language while speak another or simply by doing so trains the brain.

While many parents of bilingual children are bilingual themself. Code mixing, the use of elements from two different languages in the same sentence or conversation, is a normal part of being a bilingual and interacting with other bilingual speakers. Code mixing is relatively frequent among bilingual parents.

So it’s very good to learn a second language, it maybe hard but in the future it might come in handy.

Review: Corsair Virtuoso RGB SE

See I use to have the Razer Kraken, but I wanted to upgrade and I chose the Virtuoso RGB SE. The sound quality while gaming(especially Battlefield V) is phenominal. Although I have to admit that the headcushion is a bit more comfortable on the Razer Kraken.

When you want to use the headset you can do it in multiple ways, via cable and via USB. I have it via USB. You need to download iCue from Corsair’s website to let the RGB do it’s magic. Then restart your PC and it automatically connects.

The mic looks high end and is detachable so when the time for gaming is over you can detach it and watch music or watch Youtube.

  • It’s audio is phenominal
  • Easily detachable mic
  • Wireless or wired
  • Comes with a very nice pouch

  • It’s a bit pricey
  • Headcushion starts to hurt a bit after a while
  • Not plug and play, setup require some(but not much) time

So all things considered it’s a very good headphone.

How the RTX 3000 series isn’t as powerful as we thought

We all had the hype relating to the release of NVIDIA’s new Ampere architecture, how it will crush the giant RTX 2080 Ti, and boy those graphs blew our mind.

Source: Rockpapershotgun.com

I have an RTX 2080 Super and it does the job very well, but I cannot deny that I am a tad jealous of the new cards.

Source: Blurbusters.com

Even now when certain big YouTubers have their hands on the RTX 3000 series cards, they don’t show much improvement(they do, but not as much as we anticipated).

Linus a bit unhappy about the cards

It does show a lot of improvement over the Turing series but we anticipated too much, not that we are ungrateful or anything.
